MISSION STATEMENT

IT IS THE MISSION OF OPTIONS TO PROVIDE QUALITY SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES THROUGH TRAINING AND SUPPORT IN ORDER THAT THOSE INDIVIDUALS MIGHT ACHIEVE THEIR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL AS VALUED CITIZENS OF THE COMMUNITY.

HISTORY

OPTIONS is a private non-profit agency which began as a separate corporation in 1990.  Before that date, OPTIONS was part of TARC.   The separation was designed to expand and enhance services for individuals in our community.

    SERVICES

OPTIONS provides Vocational, Residential and Family Services.  Under Vocational Services, individuals with disabilities are provided with work training and job placement.  Job coaches help with job training and continue to assist where needed.  Under Residential Services, OPTIONS provides Community Home Living and Supervised Apartment Living.  Family Services include Respite Care, and Personal Care Attendants.  OPTIONS employs professional and direct-care staff to provide services to over 100 individuals with disabilities in a five-parish area.
