PLANNED GIVING - A WAY TO BENEFIT YOU AND OPTIONS |
INSURANCE:
Life Insurance can make a big difference to your financial security...and to OPTIONS.
Life Insurance, both
term and whole life, is an excellent investment. Not only can it provide income at
the death of a wage-earner
or allow low-interest loans from the policy's value, it also can provide support to
OPTIONS without decreasing
your current income or affecting your financial status.
WAYS TO DONATE AND TAX BENEFITS:
There are many creative ways to donate life insurance. You can donate the policy
outright, or name OPTIONS
as a beneficiary of the policy. You can even establish a unique trust, using the
proceeds from a life insurance policy, that pays you income. In return, you are
eligible for significant tax and financial benefits. Depending on
the gift method you select, you can receive an income tax charitable deduction for the
gift and any premiums
you continue to pay, reduce estate taxes, receive regular income, and more.
YOUR LEGACY:
When you donate life insurance to OPTIONS, you provide a way for OPTIONS to continue
serving individuals
with disabilities and to continue to advocate for a better quality of life for people with
mental retardation or developmental disabilities. It is a wonderful legacy to leave
behind you, a way of perpetuating your concern
for others.
If you would like to learn more about how you and OPTIONS
can benefit from a gift of life insurance, please
write or call Sylvia Bush, OPTIONS Executive Director, P.O.Drawer 2667. Hammond, LA.
70404.
Phone: 504.345.6269. E-mail: options@I-55.com
Or contact Gary Sandifer, New York Life Insurance Agent, 504.542.0483 or an insurance agent of your choice.
APPRECIATED ASSETS:
You can help OPTIONS through gifts of appreciated assets
to OPTIONS, Inc. such as stocks, bonds, real estate, raw land, etc. This method of
gifting provides a tax deduction for the donor. For more information, contact
OPTIONS or Jack Payne, A.G. Edwards in Hammond, 504.542.7770.
WILLS:
When making your will, you may leave a direct bequest to OPTIONS, Inc. You may also specify how this bequest should be used or if you wish it to be used at OPTIONS discretion. The best way to set up a direct bequest in your will is to consult your attorney and make known your intention. It is always good policy to inform your family members or executor of your decision, as well.
