HOW THE

LUCKY 'T' RANCH

GOT STARTED

The story of how we got started is long, and a bit strange. You see, I grew up around horses, listening to my dad tell stories about training them and all the work involved with them. Having NEVER been afraid of hard work and always welcoming a challenge, I was hook at an early age.

It was a dream of mine to own my own ranch and be able to let others enjoy what I grew up enjoying...HORSES. When I was in High School, I had a teacher that al ways told me, "If you can Dream it, you can Achieve it. If you can Imagine it, you can Become it." I heard that saying so much, I started to believe it. And now I KNOW it's true.

Now the story leaps forward several years. I moved to Georgia, met Patti. We were standing in the middle of a grassy field on the bank of the Chattahooche River, waiting for Collin Raye, a country music singer, to take the stage at a free concert. We were talking about all the cowboys around and "MY DREAM."

I realized right then and there that I could have my dream and from that moment on, I went after it. I had a lot of friends push me to go after it. Even when I was ready to give up and accept the fact that it just wasn't meant to be, Patti wouldn't let me give up or quit. One thing I've got to give her; once she sets her mind to something, she doesn't give up. For this, I owe her and all those that helped, supported and encouraged me along the way, a HUGE thanks, because in September of 1997, we finally bought our place.

It's taken a lot of hard work, a lot of money, and a lot of dedication, and it's a constant job keeping the place up. But, if you ask me "Is it worth it?" my answer is a very definite "YES, You Betcha!"
