Andre G. Coudrain,
a New Orleans native, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern
Louisiana University in Hammond in 1979 where he was elected President
of the Student Government Association and was named the Outstanding Male
Student in the 1979-1980 academic year. He was also elected Student Member
to the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities in Louisiana.
After attending graduate school at Southeastern, he went on to Loyola University
Law School in New Orleans where he earned a Juris Doctrine degree in 1983.
After graduating from Loyola, Andre returned to practice law in Hammond. In 1986 he became a partner in the law firm Cashe & Coudrain, which merged in 1989 with the law firm Lewis & Moody to form the present firm Cashe, Lewis, Moody & Coudrain.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the 21st Judicial District Bar Association, the American and Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and the Louisiana Bankers Association/Bank Counsel Section. He is a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He is admitted to practice in all state courts and the U.S. District Courts of the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Andre has been an active community member since his return to Hammond. He has served as president, vice president and a member of the Board of Directors of the SLU Alumni Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Hammond Kiwanis Club, chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Special Olympics, member of the Hammond 2000 Commission, member of the Board of Directors for the Tangipahoa Parish Area United Way, Ethic Board Member of Westpark Hospital and Board member of C.A.S.A. Services, Inc.
