"POSSIBLE" IDentical Twins at About 8 weeks

Because of the high possibility of monoamniotic/monochorionic twins, I was sent to our state capitol to see a Perinatologist. She found a very thin membrane separating the two babies. I thought this meant they were NOT identical.
But I was told that the odds are still IN FAVOR of them being ID Twins.

Twins butting heads already! (18 weeks)

Twin A is definitely a boy! (18 weeks)

Odds are Twin B is a boy too! (18 weeks)

Aren't they just beautiful!  ( 27 weeks )   Still butting heads!

Both boys are doing great. We have decided to name the first born (Twin A) Jeremy Maximilian.
The second born (Twin B) will be named Zachary Seth.
Jeremy weighs 2lbs. and 1oz. while Zachary weighs just 2 lbs.
I am to see the doctor and have ultrasounds done every three weeks now.
This is to make sure that one baby isn't outgrowing the other and to check for signs of preterm labor.
Though I feel very uncomfortable at time, I have had no serious illness with this pregnancy. Thank you Lord!

UPDATE AT 30 WEEKS:

I  had another ultrasound.  No good pictures this time.  :(
Baby A weighs 1374  grams and Baby B weighs 1376.
Now does anyone understand how to convert that to pounds???
Well, I hate not knowing things. So I asked around and to my astonishment, I was not the only one who couldn't figure it out. Finally my sister-in-law Teresa LPN came to my rescue. For anyone interested here is the way she told me to figure it.

There are 1000 grams in a kg and 1 kg is equal to 2.2 pounds.
A = 1376 divided by 1000 is 1.376 multiplied by 2.2 equals 3 lbs
               B = 1574 divided by 1000 is 1.574 multiplied by 2.2 equals 3 lbs 5 ounces
Three weeks ago they weighed...
A = 976 grams = 2 lbs and 1 oz (this baby gained 15 ounces)
                                  B = 908 grams = 2 lbs (this baby gained 21 ounces which is equal to 1 lb and 5 ounces)
                  So Baby B gained 6 ounces more than Baby A.
Thats a 12% difference between the two...
( I'm not sure how the doctors got that answer.)
But they say that as long as they stay within 20% of eachother, they will be fine.
If they go beyond that, they will have to take the babies.

UPDATE AT 33 WEEKS:

I went into pre-term labor the day before my baby shower, July 23. I was only 31 weeks.
I received 5 boluses of mag sulfate, which made me feel horrible and didn't really do much else.
I also received 3 shots of asthma medicine, again, it didn't really do much, next they tried Procardia, this didn't something alright, it nearly killed me. Not really, but it felt like it. I had a terrible reaction to it.
The only thing that worked was when my priest came and anointed me.
I began to feel better the following morning and the contractions slowed down greatly.
The doctor who thought I would deliver any moment soon were talking about sending me home. Which they did, after trapping me in the hospital for 12 days. My home and family never looked so good. The first few days of being home were rough but I am getting my strength back. Though I am still confined to bed rest, it's so much better than being in the hospital. I am still taking taking the mag orally every 4 hours which is tough but at least I'm not hooked up to an IV. Thank the Lord.

I have to see the doctor every week now. With my next appointment I will receive my last steroid shot. I have received 5 already. The doctor says she will not give me anymore after 34 weeks. Which will be my next appointment next week.
So I am praying the babies are fine. I still have contractions every day, the nights are the worse.
I take Benadryl and Tylenol every 4 hours just to get through them.

They seem to be getting stronger but further apart. I don't think I will last more than a week,
only God knows what's in store for me and mine.
As of right now both babies are breech so it's looking like a C- Section for me.
I just ask for your prayers.

Zack and Jeremy.jpg (26288 bytes)

Zachary is on the left and Jeremy is on the right!
Due to Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, Jeremy is a little redder than Zack.
They will soon be the same color and we won't be able to tell them apart.

More later!
