Bible Verses (M)
marriage supper of the Lamb
(Rev 19:6-9 KJV) "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. {7} Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. {8} And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. {9} And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the
marriage
supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."
R
chief priests and Pharisees
(Mat 21:45-46 KJV) "And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them. {46} But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet."
come unto the marriage
(Mat 22:1-14 KJV) "And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
{2} The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
{3} And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden
R to the wedding: and they would not come.
{4} Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
{5} But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
{6} And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
{7} But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
{8} Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
{9} Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
{10} So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
{11} And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
{12} And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
{13} Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
{14} For many are called, but few are chosen."
said unto his disciples
(Luke 12:22 KJV) "And he said unto his disciples,
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on."
return from the wedding
(Luke 12:36-48 KJV)
"And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
{37} Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
{38} And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
{39} And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
{40} Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
{41} Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
{42} And the Lord said,
Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
{43} Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
{44} Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
{45} But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
{46} The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
{47} And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
{48} But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
Lord doth come
(Mat 24:42-51 KJV)
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
{43} But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
{44} Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
{45} Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
{46} Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
{47} Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
{48} But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
{49} And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
{50} The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
{51} And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
ten virgins...meet the bridegroom
(Mat 25:1-13 KJV)
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
{2} And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
{3} They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
{4} But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
{5} While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
{6} And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
{7} Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
{8} And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
{9} But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
{10} And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
{11} Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
{12} But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
{13} Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
resurrection they neither marry
"For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven."
(Mat 22:30 KJV)
seen of men
"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
(Mat 6:5 KJV)
Michael and his angels fought
(Rev 12:7-9 KJV) "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, {8} And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. {9} And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
fed you with milk, and not with meat
"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"
(1 Cor 3:1-3 KJV)
buried...in the land of Moab
"So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day."
(Deu 34:5-6 KJV)
body of Moses
"Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee."
(Jude 1:9 KJV)
multitude
"And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude."
(Gen 16:10 KJV)
"And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude."
(Gen 32:12 KJV)
"The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude."
(Deu 1:10 KJV)
"Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."
(Heb 11:12-13 KJV)
mystery of the kingdom of God
(Mark 4:11-20 KJV) "And he said unto them,
Unto you it is given to know the
mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
{12} That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
{13} And he said unto them,
Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
{14} The sower soweth the word.
{15} And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
{16} And these are they likewise which are sown on
stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
{17} And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when
affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are
offended.
{18} And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
{19} And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
{20} And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred."
mystery of the kingdom of God
(Luke 8:10-15 KJV) "And he said,
Unto you it is given to know the
mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
{11} Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
{12} Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
{13} They on the
rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation
fall
away.
{14} And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
{15} But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience."
stewards of the mysteries of God
"Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the
mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."
